Sickboys and Lowmen was founded in 1999 by Sicco Faase and Stijn Loman. Within a couple of years they recruited bandmembers to form a band to perform live.
In 2004 the first album Like Pow was recorded. A combination of studio, pre and postrecordings fill this album. The studio recordings were recorded by Danny Gras at the Yellow Cactus Studio, Netherlands. The pre-recordings were rough ideas and old homemade recordings from Sicco and Stijn. The post-recordings were a combination of homemade with studio-influences. This comes down to: better recorded homerecordings.
In 2007 the band begins recording a new album, White Buffalo. The band encounters some difficulties and internal problems, but after some re-organising and change of musicians the band finishes the new album in july 2008.
The music is a combination of easygoing and uptempo. Some songs are like a warm autumn day, others like a fresh spring morning.
Sickboys and Lowmen has two leadsingers. Sicco Faase and Tim Phaff. Most uptempo blues-like songs are sung by Tim. The popsongs and easygoing tunes are sung by Sicco.
Sickboys and Lowmen like to work with a lot of guestmusicians on their albums. More info on all guestmusicians on different albums can be found on this site.
